Dear friends,

Congratulations to all the winners of the Course Race, Slalom, Long Distance, Overall competitions.

I want to express my personal gratitude, together with that of Albaria and IWCA International, to the recognized National IWCA that have re-founded the Windsurfer class (Italy, Australia, Japan, South Africa, France, Holland, Spain), to the other IWCA that are added, and all the athletes, the Cobra, Windsurfer Europe S.r.l.s. of the active Edoardo Thermes, Windgenuity, World Sailing, all the other international and local authorities, all those who have contributed to the rebirth of the IWCA and to the success of these Windsurfer World Championships, including the many volunteers (both on land and at sea) and the Components of the two Regatta Committees of the Italian Sailing Federation, the International Regatta Judges and the Staff who worked at sea.

Club Albaria has agreed to organize this world championship by bringing forward the original date, scheduled for 2023 in Palermo, by one year.

The Albaria club, and the IWCA Italy/Europe, thus avoided the cancellation of the 2022 edition of the World Championship originally scheduled in Perth in Australia, allowing our Australian friends to have more time to better organize the “Big Event” (postponed several times due to covid-19 related restrictions) now scheduled for 29th December to 4th January 2023/24.

Cari amici,

Congratulazioni a tutti i vincitori delle gare di Course Race, Slalom, Long Distance, Overall.

Voglio esprimere la mia personale gratitudine, congiuntamente a quella dell’Albaria e della IWCA International, alle IWCA Nazionali riconosciute che hanno rifondato la classe Windsurfer (Italia, Australia, Giappone, Sud Africa, Francia, Olanda, Spagna), alle altre IWCA che si sono aggiunte, e tutti gli atleti, la Cobra, Windsurfer Europe S.r.l.s. del fattivo Edoardo Thermes, Windgenuity, World Sailing, tutte le altre autorità internazionali e locali, tutti coloro che hanno contribuito alla rinascita della IWCA ed al successo di questi Mondiali Windsurfer, compresi i molti volontari (sia a terra che in mare) ed i Componenti dei due Comitati di Regata della Federazione Italiana Vela, i Giudici internazionali di Regata e lo Staff che ha operato in mare.

Il Club Albaria ha accettato di organizzare questo mondiale anticipando di un anno la data originaria, prevista per il 2023 a Palermo.

Il club di Mondello, e la IWCA Italia/Europa, hanno così evitato l’annullamento dell’edizione 2022 del Campionato del Mondo originariamente in programma a Perth in Australia, permettendo agli amici australiani di avere più tempo per organizzare al meglio il “Big Event” (posticipato più volte a causa delle restrizioni legate al covid-19) ora in programma dal 29 dicembre al 4 gennaio 2023/24.

Il Mondello Windsurfer World Championship, anche con poco vento, è andato a gonfie vele grazie a tutti voi.
