The General Elective Assembly of the International Windsurfer Class IWCA asd just concluded today Sunday, May 14, in virtual form, renewing the apex roles for the next four-year term.
Here are the new IWCA Executive Committee:
Harold Elfring – President – (Netherlands)
Peter Monkhouse – 1st Vice President (Australia)
Greg Reis – 2nd Vice President (South Africa)
Celine Bordier – Executive Secretary (France)
Berry Donkersloot – Treasurer (Netherlands)
Marco Liello – Chairman Technical Committee (Italy)
In attendance were delegates from the National Classes Australia, Italy, Netherlands, France, Spain South Africa, Thailand, England, Japan, Canada, the United States, Germany, Finland, and a delegate from New Zealand. Also attending the meeting was Thomas Davies in representative of Cobra, a multinational manufacturer of the new one-design board that has been instrumental in relaunching the historic Windsurfer sailboard class with the successful “White Board – Multibrand” project involving the prestigious brands Naish, Exocet, Starboard, Mistral, I-99sails, Gaastra and the classic Windsurfer.

IWCA Australia and IWCA Italy nominated 2 members with conflict of interest.
The Assembly was opened by the greetings of Vice President Greg Johns which was followed by the presentations of all the connected delegates, the members of the outgoing Executive, and continued with the reports of Vice President Greg Johns himself followed by those of Secretary Vincenzo Baglione and Treasurer Guido Amato. This was followed by the completion of the voting procedures at the end of which the appointment of the new President of the International Class was formalized, the Dutchman Harold Elfring on whom the unanimous consensus of all those present was recorded. The renewed Executive Committee will have the task of guiding the future of the Windsurfer Class, consolidating the dizzying growth known in recent years worldwide, thanks also to the launch of the new “Windsurfer-LT.”
In an international calendar full of events to highlight the upcoming European Windsurfer Championship in Carnac (France) 8/11/June and the World Windsurfer Championship scheduled in Perth (Australia) from December 29 to January 4.
